The Corsair holds a reputation to be one of the U.S. Navy's greatest fighters of WWII. Corsair was dreaded Japanese opponents earning the nickname "Whistling Death". It was loved by Marines who called it the "Sweetheart of Okinawa". Corsairs operated in the Pacific from 1943 to 1945, achieving huge success against the best Japanese aircraft, primarily due to its superb engine and awesome armament consisting of 6 x 12.7 mm guns.
