Tamiya 61126 Grumman FM-1 Wildcat Martlet Mk.V

The F4F Wildcat is known as one of the most successful carrier aircraft designs of WWII. Among its variants was the FM-1, which was manufactured by General Motors' Eastern Aircraft Division; manufactured from August 1942, it had its armament reduced to four machine guns, and was also flown by British Royal Navy units as the Martlet Mk.V. The aircraft was usually deployed on aircraft carriers and tasked with warding off submarines as well as escorting valuable convoys.

★The decals in the kit include the so-called "invasion stripes" which were applied to British aircraft during the Normandy landings.	★This marking option recreates an FM-1 Wildcat from VC-33, based on the USS Nassau (CVE-16).	★Here is an aircraft from the VC-58 unit, flying from the USS Guadalcanal.
★A pilot figure adds even more life to the model.	★Choose an open or closed canopy. The Martlet rear view mirror is a separately molded part.	★Take a closer look at the complex landing gear, and also the detail achieved in the bays.
★Finely depicted rivets and panel lines further add to the excellent level of detail.	★Also included are a decal sheet with three marking options, plus masking stickers for use when painting the canopy.
