Schuco 450022100 Bitter CD Blue Metallic
In the early 1970s Erich Bitter combined tried and tested Opel technology with an extravagant and exotic chassis design. The result was the Bitter CD, a sports automobile which was produced from autumn 1973 to the end of 1979 and combined American and German technology with Italian chassis design. Designed in close collaboration with the Stuttgart chassis manufacturer Baur, the Bitter CD was presented to an enthusiastic audience at the IAA 1973 in Frankfurt. The mechanical parts were based on the Opel Diplomat B and included a 5.4 litre 8-cylinder engine with 230 hp. By the end of production in 1979, a total of 395 of this elegant sports coupé had been sold for a base price of DM 60,000. The Bitter CD can reach speeds of up to 210 kilometres per hour, and more than half are still on the road today, mostly owned by collectors.
