In 2001, the Hungarian State Railways MAV ordered ten dual-frequency locomotives of the 1047 series from Siemens TS. ( They are known in Germany as BR 182 and in Austria as Rh 1116 "Taurus"). The first machines started operating in May 2002. They can be used with alternating current 15 kV / 16⅔ Hz in Germany and Austria and 25 kV / 50 Hz in Hungary. So they are also suitable for the international traffic. The locomotives are lovingly named "Puszta-Ochsen" among railroad friends and travel through the country with the designation Re 470 today.
